Fortunately, people ask us quite often where our product is made. I tell them that this mainly happens in NL. “Here?!, really?” Often people are very surprised about this and on moments like this I realize that we really should tell this more often. Since the beginning of my entrepreneurship I found out that fortunately there are still a lot of beautiful crafts here in The Netherlands. It is therefore a gift to work together with people who feel real passion for their craft. When I just started, the candle maker we worked with told me about the wax and the wicks with so much passion.
I was invited with my family to visit the factory to see how a candle was made. I went on a visit with my dad and I think if my dad had been 40 years younger he would have made a career switch.
Our aim is to produce as much as we can here in the Netherlands. Take our wrapped candle for example, these candles are produced in The Netherlands and hand packed with lots of love by very able, disabled people who burst with talent. It feels good and nice to keep production in the Netherlands and also to support the crafts here. Really, sometimes things have a much nicer and warmer feel when you know where it came from and when you know the amount of love that went into the product. What do you think?
